The Opera House Wedding | Braden and Nikki

In college, Nikki and I told the same two of our mutual friends that we wanted to be friends with each other and... it happened! I would choose to be her friend a million times over. :) She’s someone you can’t help but love. People who met her at our wedding are still raving about her! She lights up every room, makes your cheeks hurt from laughing + puts others before herself always. Those words were repeated throughout their wedding day because they’re so, so true!

After a few months of hearing about this mystery man, Braden, Taylor and I finally got to meet him! We could’ve spent days with them and will always wish they lived in the same city as us. </3. They are such a joy to be with, and I couldn’t come up with a better man for Nikki! Congrats you guys!

How they met:

"We met through mutual friends!  We were both at a get together at our friends' Jaime and Taylor’s, watching an Iowa State basketball game over spring break.  For me, it was love at first sight!  It took longer for Braden cause he had a girlfriend at the time.  After I first met him, I thought to myself, “Why are all the good ones taken?”  Little did I know he would be my future husband!  We reconnected months later when we were both single.”

The proposal:

"September 19th 2015.  I (Nikki) was under the impression we were going to a surprise birthday party for Braden’s brother’s girlfriend.  I was told we were taking her golfing in order to get her out of the house while the party was getting set up.  The golf course we went to is where Braden first told me he loved me.  When we got to hole 6 (where he told me he loved me) there were flowers, a box and a letter on the bench.  I opened the box to find a golf ball that said, “Will You Marry Me?” on it.  Braden got down on one knee and I said YES!  We went back to his dad’s house for a surprise party with both our families!"

Enjoy Cancun!!

With love,

Ali Leigh
