Ali Leigh Behind the Scenes | April 30-May 1st

A weekend at home – kind of! 😉 It was full of lakes, greenery, and adventuring with fun people to be around! One thing I LOVE about Wisconsin is that there’s a lake around every corner.

FRIDAY:

We picked out our boat slip on Lake Winnebago! I am SO excited for summertime + days spent on the lake! Taylor made friends with a fisherman so we sat and chatted on the docks for quite a while. 😉

LATER FRIDAY:

I helped my friend Emily be a bridesmaid AND the photographer at her best friend’s wedding. The day was stunning! You’ll see some of the details in these squares, but Emily will be the one sharing the photos from our cameras. The ceremony was at The Draw, a collaborative art studio in Appleton. There are different studio spaces for make up artists, potters, illustrators, bloggers, etc. Such a fun idea to have a wedding there! The reception was at the North Share Golf Club right on Lake Winnebago which was nothing short of incredible! Hawg Tied brought their food truck, Copper Rock Coffee had a coffee bar set up, + the desserts were from SAP. Also, the florals by Branching Out + Company. So beautiful! AKA we ate pretty darn well! We took sunset photos of Nate and Megan + could’ve stayed out there all night for how beautiful it was. I’m happy to say, Emily + I SURVIVED having her as a bridesmaid and a photographer, and it was really just a whole lot of fun to be a part of. 🙂

SATURDAY:

I went down to Milwaukee for an engagement session. It was originally scheduled for sunset, but the rain was threatening us so we pushed it up. I had a ton of fun getting to know Maggie and Brad as we adventured around the shores of Lake Michigan + Third Ward District – they were such troopers + I’m pretty sure we got our cardio in for the week! Haha. Lots of laughs + great company. We got to the end of our shoot with rain only in the last couple minutes! YAY! There are a few sneak peeks from that session in these squares, but keep your eye out for a full blog post soon. 😉

SUNDAY:

We went to a going away party for our friend who’s joining the Peace Corps and living in Africa for 2 years. How cool is that?! I admire people with the bravery + obedience to leave the comforts of “normal” life to help out the world. No matter how scary it may be. Proud of you, Ashya! The party had a selfie stick so obviously we took part in that.

Each weekend is filled with so many little moments with wonderful people, and I hope sometime soon you’re a part of one of my weekends!

With love,

Ali Leigh
