A reminder that at least one of us could use, one that I need daily:
In a small group this past week, we were told to pick a picture that best describes our lives right now. Mine was a foggy road because I can barely see past my own feet. Exhausted from constant the decision making, the weighing of pros and cons, and praying to where there haven’t been a multitude of clear yeses, but rather peace. The transition from college to the real world. The transition into marriage. Transition of moving to two different states in less than a year.
I’ve spent so many days in this season throwing peace out the door and trying to figure the next months and years out by myself.
Then last night, Taylor’s dad was praying for us. These words shook me: “Help them to trust You when they only know the next 10 steps ahead.”
What a s i m p l e slap in the face, right?! We don’t need to know the next 10 steps, the next month, or the next five years. We need to take it one step at a time and trust that He has it all under control. Every single time in my life, he has come through with the greatest plan.
It’s so easy for me to forget, which is why I’m writing this for someone who needs it today.
If you’re in a season of fog, trust that the next step is enough.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28
